in the context of the active politicization of sports, the problem of "sports citizenship", which is relevant for Russian athletes, was raised. A comparative analysis of this institute with the institute of real citizenship was carried out, and their direct legal relationship was revealed. The problem of acquiring sports citizenship and its significance for participation in the Olympic Games is outlined. The limitations of the set of rights for sports citizenship of Russian and Belarusian athletes when participating in the future Olympic Games in Paris are considered.
